Batman Unburied Trailer Sets Release Date for Winston Duke-Led Series

Spotify and Warner Bros. have finally unveiled the Batman Unburied trailer for their forthcoming DC original audio series, featuring an all-star voice cast led by Black Panther star Winston Duke as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The podcast series is scheduled to make its global debut on May 3, exclusively on Spotify with nine international adaptations.

The audio trailer, which you can check out below along with the key art, teases the scripted series’ thrilling and dark tone as it introduces Bruce Wayne as a forensic pathologist investigating the murder cases involving Sam Witwer’s The Harvester.

“When audiences meet Bruce Wayne he is a forensic pathologist, working in the bowels of Gotham Hospital and tasked with examining the victims of The Harvester, a gruesome serial killer preying on Gotham’s citizens,” reads the synopsis. “Not only will Wayne be forced to face his own mental demons, but he will also have to overcome them to save the citizens of Gotham as his alter-ego Batman.”

Batman Unburied is a psychological thriller audio series created by David S. Goyer as part of Spotify’s multi-year agreement with Warner Bros., and DC. It will take listeners on a new journey deep into the mind of Bruce Wayne, introducing a slew of dark twists and turns with a number of classic Batman Super-Villains.

The English version will feature the voices of Winston Duke as Bruce Wayne, Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, Sam Witwer as The Harvester, Lance Reddick as Thomas Wayne, Jason Isaacs as Alfred, Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Kell, Jessica Marie Garcia as Renee Montoya, Toks Olagundoye as Martha Wayne, Jim Pirri as Arnold Flass, John Rhys-Davies as Dr. Hunter, and Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale.

In addition to its English-language version, the story will also premiere with eight adaptations that are developed for Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, and Mexico. Each iteration will feature local original talent and production teams, and the adapted scripts are specifically crafted to reflect the culture and language that remains true to the core story.

Batman Unburied is executive produced by David S. Goyer, Keith Levine, and Gracie Wheelan for Phantom Four along with Spotify’s Dawn Ostroff, Courtney Holt, Liz Gateley, Elena Blekhter, and Julie McNamara. Producers are Toby Lawless and Winnie Kemp for Wolf at the Door Studios, and Blue Ribbon Content’s Shaleen Desai, Tyler Dorson, and Peter Girardi.
