Jim Belushi to Star in ABC’s Drama Pilot Salvage

Primetime Emmy nominee Jim Belushi (Twin Peaks) will play the lead antagonist in ABC‘s upcoming drama pilot Salvage, from writer-producer Don Todd (This Is Us) and ABC Studios.

Salvage centers on ex-cop Jimmy Hill (Toby Kebbell), who wants to be left alone after moving back home to rural Florida. But when a local murder is linked to the sunken treasure of a lost Spanish galleon, he’s drawn into the investigation by an idealistic deputy and pitted against the town patriarch, outside criminal agents, and his own father.

Belushi will star opposite Charity Wakefield (Bounty Hunters) and Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island, Black Mirror) as Duke, Gwen Daniels’ (Wakefield) father described as the fun, larger-than-life Hemingway-esque patriarch of the town of Bel Grove. A man not to be messed with, residents of the town either work for Daniels or are one. As the owner of the town’s only factory, Duke makes sure things always work to his advantage.

Salvage is written and executive produced by Todd and directed by Uta Briesewitz. The show will mark a return to ABC for Belushi, who previously starred on the highly-successful comedy sitcom According to Jim on the network from 2001 – 2009. His recent work in the drama genre includes a role on HBO’s miniseries Show Me A Hero and on Amazon’s Good Girls Revolt.
