Sean Teale to play new mutant in Fox X-Men pilot
Last night, we learned that True Blood star Stephen Moyer would play the lead in the upcoming FOX pilot about the X-Men. Today, Deadline is reporting that Sean Teale, star of Syfy‘s Incorporated, will star opposite Moyer. The show will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. The series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television.

Teale will play Marcos Diaz/Eclipse, a new mutant to the X-Men universe. “Marcos is a passionate and strong-willed fighter who sometimes lets his emotions overrule reason,” according to the site. His alter ego Eclipse can absorb and manipulate photons. Also cast in the show so far are Jamie Chung (Big Hero 6, Gotham), who plays the mutant Blink, and Blair Redford (The Day the Earth Stood Still).
“Developing a Marvel property has been a top priority for the network–and we are so pleased with how Matt Nix has led us into this thrilling universe,” Fox Entertainment president David Madden said back in July when the show was announced. “There’s comic book adventure, emotional and complicated relationships, and a rich, existing mythology from which to draw. With the brilliant production crew behind this project, it has all the makings of a big, fun and exciting new series.”
Teale is also known for his role on Skins and on The CW series Reign. Are you guys excited for the new X-Men series? Which characters do you want to see? What do you think of Sean Teale being cast in the show? Let us know in the comments or tweet us @ComingSoonnet!
