X-Men ’97 Season 2 Reveals Episodes Titles & Release Schedule

Marvel Studios has revealed the full episode list and release schedule for X-Men ’97 Season 2 on Disney+. The announcement comes just days before the show’s premiere, with new episode titles teasing iconic comic book arcs and possible character returns.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 episode list and release dates explained

The new season launches with a three-episode premiere on Disney+ on July 1, then shifts to a weekly release schedule. Unlike the first season’s 10-episode run, X-Men ’97 Season 2 will release nine episodes across seven weeks, ending on August 12.

The official schedule, revealed by Marvel Studios on social media, is as follows:

  • Episode 1: “Days of Past Future” – July 1
  • Episode 2: “A Force To Be Reckoned With” – July 1
  • Episode 3: “Rise of Apocalypse – Part 1” – July 1
  • Episode 4: “Rise of Apocalypse – Part 2” – July 8
  • Episode 5: “Weapon X, Lies, and DVDs” – July 15
  • Episode 6: “Danger.exe” – July 22
  • Episode 7: “Strange Land, Savage Heart” – July 29
  • Episode 8: “The Dead Man’s Hand” – August 5
  • Episode 9: “Survival of the Fittest” – August 12

The season picks up directly after the first season’s finale, with the X-Men scattered across the past, present, and future. Trailers show Professor X, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Beast, and Magneto confronting the villain Apocalypse in 3000 BC Egypt, where he is known as En Sabah Nur, the first mutant. Meanwhile, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Morph, and Storm battle a dictatorial version of Apocalypse in 3960 AD.

The X-Men ’97 episode titles themselves offer a roadmap for Season 2’s biggest storylines. For example, “Days of Past Future” looks like a nod to the legendary “Days of Future Past” comic arc from The Uncanny X-Men. With the team split across two new timelines, the episode likely introduces the dark future and ancient past settings in detail.

X-Men ’97 features returning voice cast members Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, Alison Sealy-Smith, George Buza, Christopher Britton, and Adrian Hough.
