Blunt Talk and Ash vs Evil Dead Premiere Date Announced

Starz announced today that fan-favorite shows Ash vs Evil Dead and Blunt Talk will both make their season 2 premieres on Sunday, October 2. Ash vs Evil Dead will premiere at 8 PM ET with Blunt Talk set to follow on 8:35 PM ET.

Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 is set for another 10 half-hour episodes. The series’ cast includes Bruce Campbell in the iconic role of Ash Williams, with Lucy Lawless (Salem, Spartacus) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (Touch, Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against the Evil Dead. Season 2 is also set to introduce Michelle Hurd as Ash’s former high school sweetheart, Lee Majors as Ash’s father, Brock Williams, and longtime Evil Dead franchise star Ted Raimi as Ash’s childhood best friend, Chet Kaminski.

Blunt Talk is led by Patrick Stewart (X-Men franchise, Star Trek: The Next Generation) in the role of Walter Blunt, Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook) as Rosalie, Blunt’s tough and motherly producer-manager and Adrian Scarborough (The King’s Speech) as Harry, Blunt’s manservant. Dolly Wells (Doll & Em) and Timm Sharp (Enlightened) star as Celia and Jim, Blunt’s senior producers, along with Mary Holland (Silicon Valley) and Karan Soni (Deadpool) who star as Shelly and Martin, segment producers on Blunt’s show. Romany Malco (Think Like A Man, Top Five) returns in his recurring role of Bob Gardner, the president of the network, while musician and actor Moby, Jason Schwartzman (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Bored to Death), Fred Melamed (Casual), Golden Brooks (Girlfriends), Erik Griffin (Workaholics), Brett Gelman (Another Period), and Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation) continue to make guest star appearances in the series.

In addition, Starz has announced it has extended its partnership with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson to further develop new projects for the network with G-Unit Film & Television, Inc. In addition to the upcoming season of Power, Starz and Jackson are developing a new series titled Tomorrow, Today, a superhero-themed series about a veteran from the south side of Chicago who, after being falsely imprisoned, becomes the personal experiment of a mad prison doctor trying to create the perfect man – and an unstoppable killing machine. Set free, but on the run, the veteran must reconcile with the world that has turned against him, and use his newfound abilities for good.

Anthony Cipriano (Bates Motel12 and Holding) and Dan Kay (I.T.) will executive produce Tomorrow, Today with Kirkland Morris serving as producer. Cipriano, Kay and Morris will also write for the series. Senior Vice President of Original Programming Ken Segna and Director of Original Programing Patrick McDonald will be the Starz executives in charge of Tomorrow, Today.
