It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Supergirl’s new Superman filming his first scenes!
Following yesterday’s big reveal of The CW and DC Entertainment‘s new Superman (played by Everybody Wants Some!!‘s Tyler Hoechlin), Supergirl is now filming outdoor sequences for season two. Super-fan Trevor Broad shot some video from the Vancouver set and you check out embeds of his Tweets below to see the new Superman in action!
“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” Supergirl Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg previously said. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
The character previously maintained a presence on the series by keeping up an online correspondence with Kara and even appearing in the opening credits of the show. In addition, a young version of Kal El appeared when Kara was infected by the Black Mercy.
Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl as the title character alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater. Supergirl season two is also adding recurring roles for Lynda Carter as the President of the United States and Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer.
Supergirl airs at 8/7c p.m. Mondays on The CW. The second season premieres on October 10th. If you missed an episode of Supergirl, or just need a refresher of what happened, you can read our weekly recaps by clicking here.
