Marshals Season 2 Set Photos & Production Update Is Great News for Yellowstone Fans

Paramount Television Studios has provided an exciting update on Marshals. The show is one of multiple follow-ups to Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan‘s megahit franchise. Paramount renewed Marshals following its successful debut earlier this year.

What is the update on Marshals Season 2?

Paramount has officially announced that production has begun on Marshals Season 2. The show remains on track to premiere its second season this fall. Marshals Season 2 is currently shooting in Park City, Utah. The announcement was accompanied by a couple of new photos from the show’s set.

One of the photos shows Luke Grimes as U.S. Marshal Kayce Dutton riding a horse. The other photo shows Tatanka Means and Ash Santos, who play Miles Kittle and Andrea Cruz, respectively.

Paramount also revealed that Marshals averaged 20.4 million multiplatform viewers for its first eight episodes, based on data from Nielsen. The show debuted close to the premiere of Dutton Ranch, another Yellowstone spin-off/sequel, which has quickly entered the upper echelon of the franchise. Dutton Ranch also broke a huge Paramount record, signifying that the franchise is here to stay.

Marshals is executive-produced by Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Spencer Hudnut, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Luke Grimes, and Keith Cox. Hudnut also serves as the showrunner.

The official logline for Marshals reads, “With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. Kayce and his teammates — Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) – must balance the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families, which for Kayce includes his son Tate (Merrill) and his confidantes Mo (Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Birmingham) from the Broken Rock reservation.”

Luke Grimes reprises his role as Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Kayce Dutton in Marshals. Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham also reprise their roles from Yellowstone. They are joined by Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means.

Marshals Season 1 is streaming on Paramount+.
