Anya Taylor-Joy‘s upcoming Apple TV show Lucky got a new official poster. This comes shortly after the trailer, which reminded subscribers of its summer release.
Lucky gets official poster after trailer release
Apple TV shared a new poster for Lucky on X (formerly Twitter). It features a red-hued photo cutout of Anya Taylor-Joy’s title character, who points her gun, layered over an orange colored portrait background containing a desert landscape.
“This summer’s feeling lucky,” the OTT platform captioned the post, where they also mentioned the crime thriller’s July 15 release date. Notably, Apple TV will drop the first two episodes on that date before releasing new ones every Wednesday until August 19.
The official trailer launched yesterday, Wednesday, racking up over 1 million views. Running for two minutes and 12 seconds, it teases the high-stakes, fast-paced story fans can expect from the series.
“When a multimillion-dollar heist goes sideways, con artist Lucky is forced to go on the run,” the official synopsis reads. “Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life — and a way out.”
Apple TV has reportedly compared the tone and style to The Flight Attendant, Dead to Me, Russian Doll, Killing Eve, Inventing Anna, Black Doves, and Lioness (via Movieweb).
The show, created by Jonathan Tropper, is based on Marissa Stapley’s book of the same name. Following release, the novel became both a New York Times bestseller and a Reese’s Book Club pick. Moreover, the series marks the second collaboration between Taylor-Joy and the streamer, following The Gorge, where she starred opposite Miles Teller.
Tropper serves as showrunner alongside Cassie Pappas. He also executive produces through his Tropper Ink banner. Other executive producers include Pappas, Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter (Hello Sunshine), Taylor-Joy (LadyKiller), and Jonathan van Tulleken, who helmed the pilot.
In addition to Taylor-Joy, the main cast includes Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner.
