The FBI has released photos of a potential suspect in the ongoing investigation behind the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie.
What is the latest update regarding the ongoing Savannah Guthrie case?
In a recent post on social media, FBI Director Kash Patel shared a series of photos, as well as two brief videos, showing an armed individual at the front door of Nancy Guthrie’s residence. In the videos, the individual can be seen attempting to cover up Guthrie’s front door camera. Patel asks that anyone with any information on who the person might be, or any information regarding the case, contact the FBI’s tip site or call in a tip.
“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” said Patel in his post.
Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her home on February 1, 2026, after being dropped off at her home in Tucson the night before. In a video posted to Instagram this week, Savannah Guthrie, who has worked as the main co-anchor of the NBC News morning show Today since 2012, asked fans and anyone else watching for help or information if they had it.
“We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help,” said Guthrie (via Deadline). “She was taken, and we don’t know where, and we need your help. So I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.”
