Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 release date set for April
The fifth season of the Rent-a-Girlfriend anime has officially been scheduled for release in April 2026, according to an announcement made through the series’ official website and social media channels. Alongside the release window, a new key visual was revealed.
The promotional art highlights Chizuru Ichinose and Mami Nanami facing one another. This hints at the growing tension between the two characters. Additionally, the tagline attached to the poster reads, “Now, the fateful moment has arrived,” suggesting that the upcoming season will take a dramatic turn.
Season 5 continues the Hawaiians Arc and is being produced by TMS Entertainment. Kazuomi Koga returns as director, and Mitsutaka Hirota is overseeing series composition. The anime is adapted from Reiji Miyajima’s manga of the same name. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017 and remains one of the publication’s long-running titles. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English.
Rent-a-Girlfriend centers on Kazuya Kinoshita, a college student who turns to a rental dating service after a breakup. He hires Chizuru Mizuhara, a calm and professional rental girlfriend, for what is meant to be a simple arrangement. However, their transactional arrangement gradually becomes more complicated as their lives intersect repeatedly. As Kazuya grows increasingly involved with Chizuru, the situation leads to misunderstandings, emotional conflict, and evolving relationships.
