Dragon Striker renewed for Season 2 with release window, first look and more
Disney confirmed at Anime Expo that Dragon Striker will return for a second season, per a press release. The animated sports fantasy series is set to debut in early 2027 on Disney XD and Disney+. Notably, the announcement comes just weeks after the show’s initial launch. Dragon Striker first aired on Disney XD on June 9, 2026, and new episodes then arrived on Disney+ and Hulu the following day.
The upcoming season will feature 11 episodes, the same count as its debut run. Disney also unveiled a first-look image during the show’s panel at the convention. The storyline will push the main characters into much darker territory this time around.
“The Knights face broken friendships, buried secrets and ancient evil as they fight to reach the Banner’s Helm final and risk everything for victory,” reads the official synopsis.
Akshay Kumar voices the lead character Key, while Rebecca LaChance plays goalkeeper Ssyelle in the series. Yeukayi Ushe, Waylon Jacobs and Evanna Lynch round out the main cast as Milo, Odward and Ameline respectively. The entire core cast will reprise their roles for the upcoming second season.
Kevin Penkin, known for his acclaimed work on Made in Abyss and Star Wars: Visions, returns as series composer. An 80-piece orchestra recorded the score in Japan specifically for the show. Cash Callaway wrote and produced the opening theme song, Power of the Dragon, which Sarah West performs.
French studio La Chouette Compagnie handles production alongside Disney Television Animation for the series. Sylvain Dos Santos and Charles Lefebvre co-created the show with Paul McKeown serving as head writer. Every episode from the first season is currently available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
