Season 6 of one of NBC‘s most popular television shows is officially back, and its premiere episode is already up on Peacock.
What NBC TV show premieres today on Peacock?
The Wall, the game show that premiered in 2016, is back for its sixth season this year. The show premiered on NBC last night and airs weekly on Mondays, but episodes are added to Peacock the following day. As such, the sixth season’s premiere is officially on the streaming platform now, giving fans a chance to check out the beginning of the new season.
Originally premiering in 2016 and hosted by Chris Hardwick, The Wall sees teams of two contestants playing a game similar to a pachinko or bean machine game, or Plinko, for those who are familiar with The Price is Right. Players attempt to bank as much money as possible by answering questions and dropping balls into high-value slots at the bottom of the wall.
The game also has various rounds, all of which can increase the prize money available to players and different rules. Throughout the game, the teams are split up, with one player being isolated from the other’s decisions. At the end of the game, the isolated player is offered a contract by the host, and must choose to accept or deny it. Signing it gives players a guaranteed payout. Tearing up the contract, though, allows the team to be given the prize that the non-isolated player earned while playing the game.
To date, the highest prize awarded on The Wall was $1.7 million, during the show’s third season. There have been several prizes awarded of over $1 million, the most recent of which being on the first episode of the show’s fifth season.
