New It: Welcome to Derry figures give fans their first look at Pennywise in the new HBO Max show.
It: Welcome to Derry is a forthcoming horror series that serves as a prequel to 2017’s It and 2019’s It Chapter Two. Premiering on HBO Max this coming October, the series is developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs.
While it’s known that Bill Skarsgård will reprise his role as Pennywise the Clown in It: Welcome to Derry, the two trailers that have been released have yet to show a full glimpse of him. Now, however, McFarlane Toys has unveiled two new Pennywise figures that display what the demonic clown will look like in the show.

What else do we know about It: Welcome to Derry?
In addition to Skarsgård, the cast of It: Welcome to Derry includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso.
Both Andy and Barbara Muschietti serve as executive producers on the show alongside Fuchs, Skarsgård, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Li. Fuchs and Kane are co-showrunners.
The Muschiettis previously told Entertainment Weekly that It: Welcome to Derry will be about the interludes of Stephen King’s novel.
“This is a book we love a lot, and we felt that there was still a lot of story to be covered,” they said. “It’s so rich with characters and events, we thought we would do justice to the book and the fans by going back into this world. Specifically, we are telling the stories of the interludes, writings by Mike Hanlon based on his investigation that includes interviews he conducts with the older people in the town. In Welcome to Derry, we touch on the usual themes that were talked about in the movie — friendship, loss, the power of unified belief — but this story focuses also on the use of fear as a weapon, which is one of the things that is also relevant to our times.”
It: Welcome to Derry will premiere on HBO Max in October 2025. There will be nine episodes in the show’s first season.
