Star Wars fans have petitioned for Ahsoka Tano’s voice actress to make a cameo appearance in Ahsoka Season 2. The actress, who portrayed the Jedi in both The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, was not involved in the first season of the Disney Plus show — and some fans are hoping they can convince Disney to change this for its second season.
The live-action Ahsoka series didn’t see Eckstein reprise her role as the fan-favorite character, with Rosario Dawson instead portraying Anakin Skywalker’s former padawan. While Eckstein had been the only voice of Ahsoka up until that point, she was left out of the live-action production altogether, which left a sour taste in some fans’ mouths.

The petition, which reached the front page of the Star Wars subreddit, is requesting signatures from those who agree that “Ashley Eckstein deserves recognition for her work as Ahsoka Tano by being included in season two of The Mandalorian spin-off series ‘Ahsoka’.” While it’s unlikely Disney will respond to a fan-made petition, it shows more support for the voice actor and their contributions to the character.
Will Ashley Eckstein have a cameo in Ahsoka Season 2?
Ahsoka Season 2 is currently in development, with Lucasfilm confirming the project is underway back in 2024. However, outside of it being actively worked on, little is known about the production — which includes any mention of a cameo appearance by Eckstein.
We can reasonably assume that Rosario Dawson will return in the title role, after the character’s reconnection with her friends from the Rebels series and the live-action introduction of the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Eckstein’s last appearance as Ahsoka came in 2022’s Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, where she provided the voice for the character in the episodes ‘Resolve’ and ‘Practice Makes Perfect.’ A second season of that show is also in the works.
Ahsoka Season 2’s release date is unconfirmed at the time of this writing.
