Palm Royale Video Features Allison Janney as the Queen Bee of Palm Beach

With the official trailer for Palm Royale already out in the open, Apple TV+ has released a new video for the upcoming dramedy, featuring Allison Janney as Palm Beach’s “self-appointed” queen bee, Evelyn Rollins. The star-studded comedy series is set to arrive on the streamer on March 20.

The newly released clip introduces Janney’s Evelyn Rollins as a self-proclaimed queen bee of Palm Beach who became one of the town’s superstars due to her advocacy against pediatric cancer. A “humbled volunteer,” as Evelyn claims herself to be, the clip also teased that the character had been voted “Volunteer of the Year” for nine consecutive years.

What is Palm Royale about?

Set in 1969, Palm Royale is loosely based on Juliet McDaniel’s Mr. & Mrs. American Pie novel and will follow Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) as she breaks into the fashionable and exclusive circle of Palm Beach high society.

The official synopsis for Palm Royale reads: “Set during the powder keg year of 1969, Palm Royale is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong. It tells a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: ‘How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?’”

Apart from Janney and Wiig, the ensemble cast of Palm Royale also includes Laura Dern as Linda, Ricky Martin as Robert, Josh Lucas as Douglas, Leslie Bibb as Dinah, Amber Chardae Robinson as Virginia, Kaia Gerber as Mitzi, Carol Burnett as Norma, and more.

The upcoming miniseries is created by Abe Sylvia, who also executive produced the show alongside Dern, Wiig, Jame Lemons, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Tate Taylor, John Norris, Sharr White, Sheri Holman, Adam Gomolin, and Rock Shaink.

Palm Royale premieres on Apple TV+ on March 20.
