Matt LeBlanc Shares Heartfelt Tribute to His Friends Co-Star Matthew Perry

“I’ll never forget you.”

Those are the words Matt LeBlanc had to honor his Friends co-star and late “brother” Matthew Perry. LeBlanc — who played Joey Tribbiani in the NBC sitcom — shared an emotional tribute to his late friend on Instagram, describing their time together as “among the favorite times of [his] life.”

The actor, 56, uploaded a series of photos with Perry, who played the sarcastic yet lovable Chandler Bing in the hit television sitcom. The two were best friends on the show, and shared multiple scenes together throughout the show’s ten seasons.

“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” LeBlanc wrote. “It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Perry and LeBlanc starred in Friends — which ran from 1994 to 2004 — alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer.

Matthew Perry died at 54

On October 28, Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. The law enforcement officers are still trying to figure out the clear cause of his death, though they confirmed there were no signs of foul play or illegal substances on the scene.

The Friends cast members previously issued a joint statement to pay tribute to “Matty.”

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, Schwimmer, and LeBlanc wrote. “In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
