Uncoupled: Neil Patrick Harris Comedy Series Revived by Showtime

After being canceled by Netflix, the comedy series Uncoupled has found a new home, with the Neil Patrick Harris-led series being revived at Showtime, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Uncoupled was canceled just under a month ago, with the streaming platform not renewing the comedy show for a second season. It’s unclear just when the series will begin production on a second season however. The first season of the series premiered in July 2022, and was not a hit for the streamer, with reviews being mixed on the series as a whole.

When Uncoupled does return, it’ll also likely be available on Paramount+, as late last month it was announced that Showtime and Paramount+ would be merging and rebranding later this year.

The series is created by Emmy winners Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman. Alongside Harris, Uncoupled also stars Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks, and Marcia Gay Harden.

“Michael Lawson seems to have it all figured out,” reads the synopsis. “He’s a successful New York City real estate agent with a great career, a supportive family, close friends, and a loving relationship with his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins). But when Colin unexpectedly moves out on the eve of his 50th birthday, Michael is completely blindsided. Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.”
