Prime Video has announced that Amazon Studios’ fantasy action drama The Wheel of Time has officially been given an early third season renewal, ahead of the series adaptation’s upcoming return for season two.
“I’m so thrilled that we’ll be making a third season of The Wheel of Time,” showrunner Rafe Judkins said in a statement. “‘The Shadow Rising’ has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and something I’ve been working toward since I first pitched the show years and years ago.”
In addition, during the show’s panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, the streamer also dropped the first behind-the-scenes featurette for The Wheel of Time season two, offering fans a sneak peek into the second installment’s amazing locations and action-packed sequences.
