The Orville: New Horizons Teaser Reveals Season 3 Release Date

It’s been some time since fans have been able to check out new episodes of The Orville, but that is set to change soon, as Hulu has officially set a date for when the third season of the sci-fi series will premiere.

In a brief teaser shared on The Orville’s Twitter account, the third season for the series was given a premiere date of March 10, 2022, as well as seemingly giving it a new name in the form of The Orville: New Horizons. The clip doesn’t feature any actual action, and instead opts for audio from some of the more important moments of the show playing over a shot of the interior of the ship.

After moving from Fox to Hulu in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic essentially disrupted all of the show’s production, leaving fans waiting for any updates on what a third season might look like. Thankfully, they don’t have to wait much longer now.

The Orville is a live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows The U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the problems of everyday life.

The Orville is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Fuzzy Door Productions. The series was created and written by Seth MacFarlane. MacFarlane, Brannon Braga, David A. Goodman, Jason Clark, and Jon Cassar serve as executive producers on the series. Jon Favreau directed the series premiere episode.
