Rose McIver Takes the Lead Role on The CW’s iZombie

The CW’s other comic book based TV series, “iZombie,” has found its lead character and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s “Once Upon a Time” and “Masters of Sex” star Rose McIver. McIver will play the role of Live, who is described as “a medical student-turned-zombie.”

Joining McIver in the cast is Malcolm Goodwin as police detective Clive, who partners up with the lead character Liv after her abilities help him solve a multitude of cases; Alexandra Krosney as Liv’s best friend Peyton; Robert Buckley as Major, Liv’s former fiance; and “Alias” alumn David Anders as the antagonist Blaine.

“Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero will executive produce the series, based on the comic created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred. In the series, Liv works in a coroner’s office, and in order to maintain her humanity she’ll be forced to dine on the brains of the deceased, but in doing so she will absorb their memories and use it to solve their murders, among other crimes.
