Bryan Cranston’s Your Honor Adds Blair Underwood for Guest Role

Just three weeks ahead of the limited series’ debut on Showtime, two-time Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood (When They See Us) has signed on for a guest role in the Bryan Cranston-led drama Your Honor, according to Variety.

A legal thriller that rips through all strata of New Orleans society, Cranston will star as a respected judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices. Your Honor is executive produced by Emmy nominees Robert and Michelle King (The Good FightThe Good Wife, Evil). BAFTA winner Peter Moffat – whose Criminal Justice was the basis for The Night Of – serves as showrunner and executive producer and has written multiple episodes, including the first episode.

The 56-year-old performer is set to guest star as Roland Carter, an investigative reporter and close colleague of the deceased wife of Cranston’s Judge Michael Desiato.

The ensemble cast for the series is led by Cranston and also includes Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me By Your Name, Shirley), Sofia Black-D’Elia (The Mick, The Night Of), Carmen Ejogo (True Detective, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Da 5 Bloods, Atlanta) and Hope Davis (Love Life, Wayward Pines).

Your Honor, produced by CBS Television Studios in association with King Size Productions, is being adapted from the Israeli series Kvodo, created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach, produced by Ram Landes and airing on the country’s Yes TV. Liz Glotzer (EvilThe Good FightCastle RockThe Shawshank Redemption), Alon Aranya and Rob Golenberg (HostagesBetrayal) of Scripted World and James Degus of Moonshot Entertainment will also serve as executive producers.

The series is set to premiere on December 6.
