Alan Arkin Exits The Kominsky Method Ahead of the Final Season

According to Deadline, Academy Award winner Alan Arkin will no longer be reprising his Emmy-nominated role as Norman Newlander in the upcoming final season of Netflix’s The Kominsky Method. The outlet notes that Arkin’s exit had been decided long before the series scored its third season renewal last July, with the 86-year-old veteran actor being the one adamant to not continue beyond Season 2.

Both comedic and emotional, The Kominsky Method is a half-hour single-camera comedy about an actor and his agent as they continue their journey as two friends tackling life’s inevitable curveballs as they navigate their later years in Los Angeles, a city that, above all else, values youth. Created and produced by 8-time Emmy Award Nominee Chuck Lorre, with Al Higgins and Michael Douglas serving as co-executive produce the series.
