Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul tease mystery project again
When news first broke about a Breaking Bad movie, so did speculation about how, exactly, the film would work as a conclusion to the groundbreaking series. That speculation accelerated last week, when series stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul each posted the same image, with the same caption, at the same time on their social media accounts.
Now, Cranston and Paul, who played meth kingpin Walter White and his long-suffering assistant, Jesse Pinkman, respectively, are at it again. Today they each posted another image online at the exact same time as last week. This time, the image is of the two actors wading ankle-deep in a river with the caption “Even sooner.”
With the film set to continue Jesse’s story following the exhilarating series finale, Paul’s involvement is confirmed. However, given Walter’s fate after being left bleeding out from a gunshot in the series finale, Cranston’s involvement has been a thing of mystery. However, the actor has repeatedly stated he would love to return to the role should a proper opportunity appear.
Although it’s worth noting that Paul is sporting a very Jesse Pinkman hairstyle here, it’s entirely possible that the duo could be teasing some kind of new reality travel series where they traipse across New Mexico flipping houses. Really, it’s anyone’s guess at this point.
The Emmy Award-winning series aired on AMC before seasons were later made available on Netflix. Vince Gilligan credited the streamer for its contribution to the show’s success in his 2013 Emmy acceptance speech, saying that he thinks Netflix helped keep the show on the air.
AMC’s Breaking Bad ended its critically acclaimed five-season run with a finale that brought in a series record 10.3 million viewers. It was followed by the prequel series Better Call Saul, focused on Bob Odenkirk’s small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill, which has been renewed for a fifth season.
The Breaking Bad movie began shooting in New Mexico in March.
