A two-part episode of Cold Justice, titled “House of Horrors,” will delve into the 2015 Pendleton quadruple homicide reported by Amy Vilardi. A synopsis of the episode reads, “Kelly and Steve team up with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office to solve the horrific quadruple homicide of a family on Halloween; their investigation reveals a family feud, a trail of stolen cash, and a bloody shoe print left by the killer.” Part 2 of the episode will air on Oxygen on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET

On November 2, 2015, Amy Vilardi reported to authorities that she found the dead body of her parents, Mike, 58, and Cathy Scott, 60, in their home on Refuge Road, Pendleton. However, Mike’s mother, Barbara Scott, and Cathy’s mother, Violet Taylor, were also discovered dead. The two women were in their 80s.

Among the four, one of the victims was found in the bedroom, and the rest were in the den. Each of the victims had at least one gunshot wound shot, reported NBC News. However, the investigation hit a roadblock in December 2023 when Amy Vilardi and Rosmore Vilardi were charged with the crimes.

Amy Vilardi and her husband, Rosmore Vilardi, lived in a different home on the same property. She told the police that she went into the house to check if everything was alright when she noticed that her mother hadn’t walked their dog that day. The Vilardis children reportedly spent a lot of time at Mike and Cathy’s house. Their grandmothers, Violet and Barbara, also lived at the Scott residence for years.

How many murders were Amy Vilardi and Rosmore Vilardi charged with?

The police charged Amy Vilardi and Rosmore Vilardi with the four murders at the Pendleton quadruple homicide. However, Fox Carolina reported that the details of the arrest and the reason behind the arrest will only be revealed in court. The couple’s arrest came almost eight years after the crimes, making it a crucial piece of information in the investigation.

After the homicide was sensationalized in the media, Amy reportedly went public and said that the victims “just didn’t deserve this.” She also referred to them as “wonderful people.” She also told the media that the police had not revealed details about the investigation to her, leaving her uninformed regarding details of the case’s leads, per Independent

During the prior investigation, Amy Vilardi reportedly told authorities that her parents generally had a filling lunch on Sundays. With the day of the murder being a Sunday, forensic examination revealed evidence that pointed to the victims having a big meal. It was reportedly eaten about an hour before the killing. CBS News reported that a relative who frequently visited the house reportedly went over that day. He claimed that he arrived at the place at about 3:30 p.m., but no one was there. Following this, police deduced that the killing likely took place at around 1 p.m. that day.

Part 2 of “House of Horrors” will air on Oxygen on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET.
