The Night Stalker, Richard Ramirez, terrorized several areas of California during the mid-1980s. However, he was captured on August 31, 1985. He was convicted and sentenced for his crimes in 1989. He was supposed to be executed in a gas chamber in California, but, he passed away due to prolonged illness in 2013.
Richard Ramirez was a psychopath and used extremely violent methods to torture his victims. He committed murders, attempted murders, rapes, attempted rapes, and battery. He even used a number of weapons to execute his crimes. Some of his favorites were handguns, a machete, a tire iron, a claw hammer, and various types of knives. He even shocked one of his victims with a live electrical chord.
Many victims who survived his attacks said that he took joy in humiliating and degrading them. He used to tell them to profess their love for the devil and ordered them to “swear on Satan” to let them go.

The Night Stalker’s first known victim was a 9-year-old girl named Mei Leung. First, he beat and then raped her. He finally ended her life by stabbing her several times. Furthermore, he proceeded to hang her corpse from a pipe. This terrifying incident took place in the year 1984.
According to The Sun, here are some of the other victims of Richard Ramirez:
- Jennie Vincow, a 79-year-old woman whom Ramirez stabbed repeatedly while she was asleep. Her body was nearly decapitated.
- Peter and Barbara Pan both were murdered by the Night Stalker. Barbara was even raped.
- Mary Louise Cannon was stabbed several times by the criminal. This resulted in her demise.
- Ramirez shot both Vincent Charles Zazzara and Maxine Levenia Zazzara. After Maxine died, the serial killer used a knife to mutilate her body and even gouged her eyes out.
