Dwayne Johnson has posted a new Jumanji video to social media
Dwayne Johnson is back on social media today, posting a Jumanji video that gives us another look at his costume and a glimpse at the film’s outdoor set. Check it out in the player below!
Production has officially begun on Sony Pictures‘ upcoming Jumanji sequel. Star Kevin Hart previously shared the first photo from the set, featuring himself and his co-stars as their characters. Hart himself is playing a character named Moose Finbar, Karen Gillan is Ruby Roundhouse, Jack Black is Professor Shelly Oberon and Johnson is Dr. Smolder Bravestone.
As we previously reported when Johnson posted the first concept art for the film, it would appear that the stars are playing the “avatars” of the kids actually playing the Jumanji game in the film. You can read more about that by clicking here.
Johnson and Hart and joined by Jack Black, Nick Jonas, and Karen Gillan. Bad Teacher and Sex Tape helmer Jake Kasdan will direct from a screenplay by High Fidelity and Con Air scribe Scott Rosenberg with frequent Bad Robot executive producer Jeff Pinkner serving as a consultant. Matt Tolmach, William Teitler and Ted Field are producing. Mike Weber and Van Allsburg executive produce.
Jumanji is based on Chris Van Allsburg’s 1985 children’s book in which a magical board game causes jungle plants and creatures to invade a quiet American suburb. The 1995 original film was directed by Joe Johnston and starred the late Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier and Patricia Clarkson. According to Johnson, the new film will serve as a sequel rather than a full reboot.
