Burnt, John Wells‘ chef drama starring Bradley Cooper, but today we get more than just an amuse-bouche as The Weinstein Co. has released the full trailer for the film ahead of its October 23 release. One thing I can say right off the bat: if you haven’t already eaten today this trailer just might bring you to a breaking point.
A story about the love of food, the love between two people and the power of second chances, Burnt stars Cooper as Adam Jones, a two-star Michelin chef who had it all — and lost it. Now seeking redemption in the form of his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star, he’ll need the best of the best on his side from a cast that features Sienna Miller, Daniel Brühl, Emma Thompson, Omar Sy, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman, Alicia Vikander, Jamie Dornan and Lily James.
After glimpsing the trailer I can’t help but notice the film comes off a bit like a dramatic version of Jon Favreau‘s Chef, though as a fan of Chef that comparison definitely doesn’t turn me off. Cooper looks great here alongside the likes of Miller, Thompson and Brühl, and I generally enjoyed Wells’ last outing, August: Osage County, so I’m intrigued to find out if Burnt satisfies my appetite. I do my best to avoid trailers but I did watch this one, and compared to others I’ve seen recently it looks quite good.
