Watch: Jennifer Lawrence Stars in First ‘Joy’ Movie Trailer

Fox has released the first trailer for David O. Russell‘s likely Oscar contender Joy, back again with his Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle star, Jennifer Lawrence, the film centers on the life story of Joy Mangano (Lawrence), a struggling Long Island single mom of three who became one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs with her self-wringing Miracle Mop invention.

Along with Lawrence the film also features recent fellow members of Russell’s growing troupe of actors including Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper along with Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd and Virginia Madsen. Russell penned the screenplay with Oscar-nominated Bridesmaids co-writer Annie Mumolo.

The film is slated for a Dec. 25 release date, which has become the most packed day of the year as it also includes the release of The Hateful Eight, Snowden, Concussion, Daddy’s Home, Point Break and The Revenant.
