The first London Has Fallen trailer has dropped, offering a first look at the sequel to the 2013 hit Olympus Has Fallen. This time around Gerard Butler returns as Secret Service agent Mike Banning as the action moves from U.S. to British soil.
The story begins following the death of the British Prime Minister and his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also stars as the Vice President of the United States.
Babak Najafi takes over directorial duties from Antoine Fuqua and along with the returning Butler and Eckhart, the film also features the return of Angela Bassett, Radha Mitchell and Melissa Leo along with co-stars Morgan Freeman, Jackie Earle Haley, Robert Forster and Sean O’Bryan.
The film is set for a January 22, 2016 release, watch the trailer below.
