Netflix’s ‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp’ First Retro Trailer & Pictures

Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming original series “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp“. This will be another adventure (or misadventure) set at Camp Firewood following in the footsteps of the original 2001 movie. The series will be led by the creative team of Michael Showalter and David Wain and much of the original cast returns, including Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games), and Amy Poehler (Inside Out).

The trailer sets the tone of the series more than showing off any actual footage or jokes from the episodes. H. Jon Benjamin provides bone dry voice over promising the “summer of your life” while VHS quality images tease what’s in store. If you are a fan of the original Wet Hot American Summer or 2014’s They Came Together, this sneak peek promises to offer more of the same style of humor – namely being in on its own joke. If you don’t enjoy that type of humor, this doesn’t seem like it will offer up anything new that would change your mind.

Give the trailer a watch below and check out a few pictures from the upcoming mini-series. The eight episode release goes live at Netflix on July 31. Are you excited for the series?
