Barely Lethal earned itself an R-rating just last week, but the distributor is intending to appeal the rating, which was earned for “sexual material and teen drinking.” Ooooh, sounds kinky! Odd there is no mention of violence as there clearly seems to be a little of that going on as well as the first trailer for the upcoming action/comedy has found its way online.
Starring Hailee Steinfeld alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Alba, Jaime King and Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones”), the film centers on a teenage special ops agent (Steinfeld) coveting a “normal” adolescence who fakes her own death and enrolls in a suburban high school. She quickly learns that surviving the treacherous waters of high school is more challenging than international espionage.
Kyle Newman, who has essentially been absent from the movie scene since 2009’s Fanboys, directed the film which is currently without a release date. Check out the trailer below.
