The East Coast is Feeling It in the New ‘San Andreas’ Trailer

Whomever cut this new trailer for San Andreas did a pretty good job, because I just got home from my screening of Run All Night and this trailer played in front of the film and the moment the helicopter narrowly avoids getting smashed by a falling building there was an audible gasp in my theater. Of course, the moment Paul Giamatti says the earthquake will be so big they will feel it on the East Coast I heard audible laughter. So, I’d say that’s the kind of movie we can expect as the latest bit of disaster porn directed by… no, not Roland Emmerich, but Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island).

After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter. But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning, and when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

San Andreas hits theaters on June 5 and along with Dwayne Johnson in the lead role, the pic stars Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Art Parkinson, Paul Giamatti, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Will Yun Lee and Kylie Minogue. Watch the new trailer below and check out the latest poster.
