Trailer for ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’ Sequel to ‘Godzilla’ Director’s Debut

If you know anything about Godzilla director Gareth Edwards, you know he directed the small, independent sci-fi feature Monsters, which was released back in 2010. I didn’t personally love the film as much as most, but I enjoyed and respected it. And on top of introducing the world to Edwards, it also put Scoot McNairy (Argo, Killing Them Softly) on the map. Nothing wrong with that.

Now a sequel to Monsters is on the way, Monsters: Dark Continent, directed by Tom Green and featuring a new cast of characters. While the first film dealt with a quarantine area covering half of Mexico as it struggled to prevent the spread of alien lifeforms, the sequel finds the “infected zones” spreading worldwide.

Magnet is handling the release, though there is still now release date set. Watch the first trailer directly below.
