Everyone’s Talking about ‘The Conjuring’, Here’s a New Trailer

James Wan‘s The Conjuring had its premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival recently and everyone is raving about how amazing it is with the most common comparisons being to William Friedkin‘s The Exorcist. Of course, this makes me extremely jealous since that’s just my pathetic, impatient human nature shining through, but it is pretty great to be anticipating a horror film once again.

The first story surrounding the film was how the MPAA felt they couldn’t give it a PG-13 rating even though it didn’t have any over-the-top bits of violence or swearing. The film was simply deemed too scary and therefore must be rated R. It sounded like publicity speak, but people are weighing in out of LAFF and it seems legit.

Today a new trailer has dropped for what is described as being based on a true story. The film stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as world renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren who are called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

The Conjuring co-stars Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor and Joey King and will be released in theaters on July 19.

Watch the trailer and let me know what you think.
