The UK’s Picturehouse Cinemas will be screening Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost‘s Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy (aka The Cornetto Trilogy) — Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End — on July 27 following the July 19 release of The World’s End across the pond, a full month before us here in the States get to see it on August 23. Thus the poster you see above and to go along with it we have a brand new “trilogy trailer” reminding us where we’ve been and where we’re going.
As for where we’re going, The World’s End stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan as five childhood friends who set off on an epic pub crawl, which will end at The World’s End, but that’s not exactly the complete story. Here’s the complete synopsis:
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
