ABC has premiered the first “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” trailer with an extended version to go online tonight after airing on ABC during the season finale of “Once Upon A Time” and Clark Gregg‘s Agent Coulson is clearly the focus here as the hashtag #CoulsonLives is how they’ll be working the social media sphere.
Apparently the show will be set following the events of The Avengers, which is to suggest that Coulson absolutely did survive Loki’s attack in the film. Coulson will put together a small, highly trained, team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet–the new, the strange and the unknown. The team consists of straight arrow Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); and brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). Their initial investigations lead them to civilian computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).
I’m not positive, but I believe Joss Whedon directed the pilot episode, which is expected to air Fall 2013.
