The Weinstein Co. premiered the first trailer for August: Osage County this morning on “Good Morning America” and it is now online for all of us to enjoy.
The film is an adaptation of Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play with a screenplay by Letts and a cast led by Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts.
Directed by John Wells, the story is that of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
In addition to Streep and Roberts, the cast also includes Margo Martindale, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Dermot Mulroney, Sam Shepard, Ewan McGregor and Julianne Nicholson.
