This weekend a nine-minute preview of Star Trek Into Darkness, or as it will otherwise be referred to, Star Trek 2, played in front of several IMAX 3-D screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey across the country and while only bootleg versions of that can be found online, Paramount has released a the first full, official trailer for the film for you to feast your eyes on.
Star Trek Into Darkness will hit theaters on May 17 and features returning stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban as well as newcomers Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke and Benedict Cumberbatch as John Harrison, the film’s villain.

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness.
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man (Benedict Cumberbatch) weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
