Watch: New Trailer for ‘The Impossible’ and Trailer for Horror Romance ‘Jack and Diane’

This morning we The Impossible, the director’s highly anticipated follow-up to The Orphanage will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and today I have a new international trailer for the film, which is, yes, dubbed in Spanish, but for now is all I have to offer.

The pic is based on a true story, following one family’s survival of the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. The film family (Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor and Tom Holland) are caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time. But the true-life terror is tempered by the unexpected displays of compassion, courage and simple kindness that Maria and her family encounter during the darkest hours of their lives. Both epic and intimate, devastating and uplifting, The Impossible is a journey to the core of the human heart.

Following its Toronto debut the film will arrive in theaters on December 21 and it just may be a serious Oscar contender. Give this latest international trailer a watch below.

Next is the first trailer for Jack and Diane starring Juno Temple, Riley Keough, Kylie Minogue, Cara Seymour, Dane DeHaan and Lou Taylor Pucci. Directed by Bradley Rust Gray, the pic follows two teenage girls in New York City – the charmingly innocent Diane (Temple) whose affection manages to pierce the heart of the tough and closed off Jack (Keough). But when Jack discovers that Diane is moving she pushes her away. Unable to grasp her new feelings, Diane’s emotions begin to cause unexplainable violent changes to her body. Through these awkward and insecure feelings, the two girls must struggle to turn their first love into an enduring one.

The film is set to hit theaters on November 2 with a video on demand debut coming on September 28.

The stop motion animation you see in the trailer was done by the Quay Brothers whose work you can find all over YouTube.
