‘The Do-Deca-Pentathlon’ Trailer

I’ve already written a little about the Duplass brothers’ latest film, The Do-Deca-Pentathlon, which I saw as a part of the Seattle Film Festival after it had premiered at Sundance and was snatched up by Fox Searchlight Pictures.

The story centers on two brothers (Steve Zissis and Mark Kelly) who haven’t spoken for several years after falling out over a dispute pertaining to the rules of their childhood contest of 25 events dubbed the Do-Deca-Pentathlon. Now, after having virtually gone through life without saying a word to one another, the two come together to resurrect their years-old competition and finally decide a champion.

I had no problem with the film overall, it just doesn’t come across as overly cinematic, and in my mini review, I suggested it is “no more than a perfect film for a Sunday afternoon at home on the couch.” I stand by that opinion.

The Do-Deca-Pentathlon hits theaters on June 6. You can read my mini review of the film right here.
