Red Band Teaser Trailer for ‘Friends with Benefits’ Starring Timberlake and Kunis

I guess these last 48 hours were determined by studios as the time to debut trailers as I’ve featured no fewer than eight trailers recently and now a new one arrives in the form of Fired Up! and Easy A helmer, Will Gluck’s new movie, Friends with Benefits starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. Oddly enough I mentioned this flick yesterday when I posted the trailer for Ivan Reitman’s No Strings Attached, a film that was also once titled Friends with Benefits and hits theaters much earlier in the year.

Gluck’s Friends with Benefits even uses the catchphrase Reitman’s title employs in its official synopsis. Have a read:

A young female headhunter (Mila Kunis) in New York convinces a potential recruit (Justin Timberlake) to leave his job in San Francisco behind and accept a job in the big apple. Despite an attraction to each other, both realize they’re everything they’ve been running from in a relationship and decide to become friends….with benefits. It’s the perfect arrangement–until they realize there’s no such thing as no strings attached.

Along with Timberlake and Kunis, the film has a fleet of names attached including Gluck’s Easy A star Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Patricia Clarkson, Andy Samberg, Jenna Elfman and Richard Jenkins. I would assume many of you look at that cast list and already see some faces familiar to something called “Motherlover”. You know, the “Saturday Night Life” digital short featuring Timberlake, Samberg, Clarkson and Susan Sarandon. Watch the video I’ve included to the right if you need a refresher on that.

Otherwise, this film has some heat behind it. Timberlake is coming off successful reviews with The Social Network, Kunis is going to have her name elevated very shortly once people see her opposite Natalie Portman in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan releasing on December 3 and Gluck and Stone have shared success on Easy A. The July 22 release date pits it squarely against Paramount’s Captain America: The First Avenger in an attempt for counter-programming.

I’ve added the red band teaser (via Moviefone) directly below, so give it a watch and see what you think.
