New Trailers for ‘Inglourious Basterds’ and ‘Halloween II’

New trailers have just come available online with our second look at a pair of Weinstein Co. films due out in August.

The first is Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds which is due in theaters on August 21 starring Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent and Christoph Waltz. The film is set in 1940, France is occupied and Shosanna Dreyfus (Melanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hands of the Nazi colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna manages to escape and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity for herself as a movie-theater operator. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish American soldiers to perform swift, shocking acts of retribution. Later known to their enemy as “the basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of the Third Reich.

One week later, on August 28, Dimension Films will release Rob Zombie’s Halloween II once again picking up the story of Michael Myers who has returned home to sleepy Haddonfield, Illinois to take care of some unfinished family business. Unleashing a trail of terror that only horror master Rob Zombie can, Myers will stop at nothing to bring closure to the secrets of his twisted past. But the town’s got an unlikely new hero, if they can only stay alive long enough to stop the unstoppable.
