New Trailer and 19 Pics from Live-Action ‘Blood: The Last Vampire’

A little over two weeks ago I showed you the international trailer and Japanese teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation Blood: The Last Vampire. Since then I have watched the 2000 anime feature which it is based on and today just added the latest Japanese trailer, which is in English as well as 19 new images from the film.

The story centers on Saya (Gianna Jun) a 400-year-old “halfling” born to a human father and a vampire mother who uses her samurai skills to rid the world of vampire. The story follows her as she is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization she works for in an effort to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires.

The animated feature is okay, but it is pretty short and offers very little story which means the feature film is going to have to fill in the blanks (most likely with generic time filler back-story). Based on the trailer below I can’t imagine this film knocking the socks off anyone, but I guess it could be an entertaining diversion. I just can’t get beyond the fact it reminds me of such cheap looking adaptations as the latest Street Fighter and the upcoming Dragonball.

Give the trailer a watch for yourself and you can check out the images by clicking here.

Samuel Goldywn Films picked up domestic distribution rights, but the film is still without a release date.
