The official Knights of the Zodiac trailer has been released, giving fans a closer look at the live-action Saint Seiya movie. Based on the popular manga and anime, Knights of the Zodiac is set to release exclusively in theaters on May 12.
“Seiya (Mackenyu), a headstrong street teen, spends his time fighting for cash while he searches for his abducted sister,” reads the film’s synopsis. “When one of his fights unwittingly taps into mystical powers he never knew he had, Seiya finds himself thrust into a world of warring saints, ancient magical training and a reincarnated goddess who needs his protection. If he’s to survive, he will need to embrace his destiny and sacrifice everything to take his rightful place among the Knights of the Zodiac.”

Knights of the Zodiac was created by Masami Kurumada. The manga was originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1986-1990 and gained massive popularity. The series was localized as Knights of the Zodiac and would spawn numerous spin-off series, anime, and video games.
The movie was directed by Tomek Baginski and written by Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken, and Kiel Murray. It stars Mackenyu, Famke Janssen, Madison Iseman, Diego Tinoco, Mark Dacascos, Nick Stahl, and Sean Bean.
