Hulu has released the official Sex Appeal trailer for the upcoming coming-of-age comedy, starring Mika Abdalla, and Jake Short. The film will be available for streaming on January 14.
The video, which you can check out below, features an overachiever, who has already mastered everything related to school. She has now shifted her focus to mastering her sexuality through science to gather information about sex. Soon, she’ll learn that the best way to test her research is by enlisting a male sex partner.

Sex Appeal is directed by Talia Osteen from a screenplay written by Tate Hanyok, who will also be serving as an executive producer. It will star Mika Abdalla, Jake Short, Mason Versaw, Paris Jackson, Margaret Cho, Fortune Feimster, Rebecca Henderson, Tate Hanyok, Hayden Szeto, and Artemis Pebdani.
“Avery Hansen-White doesn’t do things she isn’t excellent at,” reads the synopsis. “So when her long-distance boyfriend hints at wanting to take their relationship to the next level, she sets out to master her sexuality, employing her oldest friend, Larson, as a test subject. In this hilarious teen comedy, Avery’s study results in the realization that there’s more to sex, and love, than mechanics. Relationships require both head and heart.”
