Back to the Outback Trailer Previews Netflix’s New Animated Pic

Netflix has released the official Back to the Outback trailer for the upcoming animated adventure comedy film, featuring the voices of Australian stars Isla Fisher, Eric Bana, Guy Pearce, and more. The film will be available for streaming on December 10.

The video, which you can check out below, features a group of not-so-deadly animals as they escaped the Wildlife Park in order to embark on a dangerous adventure towards the outback where they can finally be themselves and not be viewed as monsters anymore.

Back to the Outback is co-directed by Clare Knight and Harry Cripps, who wrote the screenplay based on his and Gregory Lessans’ story. The animated film’s voice cast includes Isla Fisher as Maddie, Tim Minchin as Tom, Eric Bana as Chaz, Guy Pearce as Frank, Miranda Tapsell as Zoe, Angus Imrie as Nigel, Keith Urban as Doug, Jacki Weaver as Jackie, Rachel House as Jacinta, Celeste Barber as Kayla, Wayne Knight as Phil, Aislinn Derbez as Legs, Diesel La Torraca as Ben, and Lachlan Ross Power as Lenny.

“Tired of being locked in a reptile house where humans gawk at them like they’re monsters, a ragtag group of Australia’s deadliest creatures plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they’ll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs,” reads the official synopsis.

“Leading the group is Maddie, a poisonous snake with a heart of gold, who bands together with a self-assured Thorny Devil lizard Zoe, a lovelorn hairy spider Frank, and a sensitive scorpion Nigel. But when their nemesis — Pretty Boy, a cute but obnoxious koala — unexpectedly joins their escape, Maddie and the gang have no choice but to take him with them.”
