Yes Day Sequel in the Works at Netflix With Jennifer Garner to Return

Netflix has announced that they’re currently developing a sequel to their popular family comedy feature Yes Day, with Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner attached to reprise her role as Allison Torres. In addition, Garner has also strengthened her partnership with the streamer by officially signing a multi-picture deal for the acclaimed actress to star in and produce new films for Netflix. The Yes Day sequel will be part of her multi-picture deal with the streamer.

“Having known Scott for fifteen years, there is a reason his relationships in the business stand the test of time,” Garner said in a statement. “He is as true blue as he is smart and intuitive about filmmaking. Reed, Ted, and Scott have built a safe, collaborative home for storytellers— I am honored to join the awesome group of creatives in the Netflix family, and I am extremely excited to work with their passionate and innovative teams across all departments.  I had the most gratifying, creative, experience bringing Yes Day to life. Seeing Netflix’s global reach as the Torres family wreaked havoc in homes all over the world makes me eager to dive in with another Day of Yes; I can’t wait. I am grateful for Netflix’s continued support and look forward to mixing it up across the board with this partnership.”

“I first worked with Jen on The Kingdom 14 years ago and consider myself very lucky to still be in business with her today,” Netflix’s Head of Global Film, Scott Stuber said. “As an actor, she’s proven herself to be incredibly versatile in unforgettable roles spanning fast-paced action, heartfelt comedies, and thought-provoking dramas. She approaches every aspect of her work with such detail and preparation, which makes her an extremely valuable partner and producer. We look forward to celebrating another Yes Day with Jen and collaborating on many other exciting projects.”

Yes Day was based on New York Times best-selling children’s novel by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrator Tom Lichtenheld. It starred Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramírez, Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, Megan Stott, June Diane Raphael, and Nat Faxon.

In the first film, always feeling like they have to say NO to their kids and co-workers, Allison and Carlos decide to give their three kids a YES DAY — where for 24 hours the kids make the rules. Little did they know that they’d be going on a whirlwind adventure around Los Angeles, that would bring the family closer to each other than ever before.

Garner will also next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming star-studded sci-fi film titled The Adam Project starring opposite Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana, and Mark Ruffalo.
