All Seasons of 3 Fan-Favorite Shows Are Leaving Netflix This Fall

Three popular television shows are leaving Netflix’s library this fall. These shows have been a cultural phenomenon and have garnered a dedicated following over the years. However, due to their expiring licensing agreements, the streamer will be dropping them from its platform.

Seinfeld and two more acquired shows are leaving Netflix in October

Netflix will be removing all nine seasons of Seinfeld on Thursday, October 1 (via What’s on Netflix). It is a beloved sitcom that has entertained several generations. Created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, it premiered on NBC in July 1989 and quickly became one of the most successful shows at the time.

The show centers on a fictionalized version of Jerry Seinfeld, a comedian, and his friends Elaine Benes, George Costanza, and Cosmo Kramer as they navigate everyday life in New York City. It ran for nine seasons, totaling 180 episodes. Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards round out the main cast. Furthermore, Seinfeld has high ratings on review aggregator sites like Rotten Tomatoes. It also received 55 Primetime Emmy nominations and won 10.

Next, on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Netflix will drop Shameless (Seasons 1-11), another primetime show. It is based on a British series of the same name created by Paul Abbott, who also served as co-showrunner of the US version, along with John Wells. The show originally aired on Showtime in January 2011, and has 134 episodes across 11 seasons.

Shameless is a dark comedy that follows the dysfunctional Gallagher family. Because of the family’s patriarch, Frank Gallagher’s alcoholic and irresponsible nature, his oldest daughter, Fiona, takes the responsibilities of her siblings. The cast features William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Justin Chatwin, Cameron Monaghan, and Emma Kenney, among others. The show boasts an impressive 82% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Lastly, Gossip Girl (Seasons 1-6) exits Netflix on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The CW coming-of-age drama is one of the most influential television shows of the late 2000s and early 2010s. Moreover, it is based on Cecily von Ziegesar’s eponymous novel series. Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Joshua Safran developed the show. It has six seasons and 121 episodes.

Gossip Girl follows privileged teenagers whose private lives are constantly exposed by the mysterious blogger called “Gossip Girl.” It stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, and Ed Westwick, among others. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an approval rating of 84%.
