According to Deadline, Netflix has successfully acquired the worldwide distribution rights to STXfilms’ forthcoming action-thriller film titled Fast & Loose, which will be led by Oscar-nominee Will Smith. This marks the blockbuster star’s latest collaboration with the streamer following 2017’s fantasy action pic Bright, and the most documentary series Amend: The Fight For America. In addition, John Wick director David Leitch has also signed on to helm the project.
Fast & Loose will be revolving around a man, who wakes in Tijuana with no memories. As he pieces together his past, he’ll learned that he has been living two lives, one as a crime kingpin, and the other as an undercover CIA agent.
The film is written by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber. It will be produced by Leitch, Smith, Kelly McCormick, Jon Mone, Ryan Shimazaki, and James Lassiter. It will be a production by 87North, STXfilms, and Westbrook Studios.
Smith is no strange to the action genre as he previously starred in films such as Bad Boys films, Independence Day, Men in Black films, Wild Wild West, I Robot, I Am Legend, Hancock, Suicide Squad, and Gemini Man. He will next be seen in Warner Bros. Pictures’ forthcoming biopic King Richard, and in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming remake of the classic 80s comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
