Fear Street Part 2: 1978 Clip Debuts Ahead of Friday Premiere

Netflix has released a Fear Street Part 2: 1978 clip from Leigh Janiak’s upcoming second installment to the streamer’s horror trilogy movie event, based on R.L. Stine’s iconic YA books of the same name. Just like Part 1: 1994 which paid homage to 90s horror classic films such as Scream, Fear Street Part 2: 1978 is also expected to pay tribute to other iconic horror movies such as Friday the 13th due to its camp setting. The sequel will be available for streaming this Friday, July 9.

The video, which you can check out below, features Sadie Sink and Emily Rudd’s characters teasing the pair’s first encounter with Sarah Frier, while also pointing out the unfortunate destiny of Shadysiders who have no choice but to face the consequences of the witch’s curse.

Based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror series, the trilogy follows Shadyside’s sinister history through a nightmare 300 years in the making. Fear Street Part 2: 1978 – Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.

Written by Janiak and Zak Olkewicz, the second part stars Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins, Mccabe Slye, Ted Sutherland, Jordana Spiro, Gillian Jacobs, Kiana Madeira, Benjamin Flores Jr., Ashley Zukerman, Olivia Scott Welch, Chiara Aurelia, and Jordyn Dinatale.
